PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 20, 2011 – Cherokee Ford, a metro Atlanta Ford dealership, proudly announces that the 2012 Ford Fo goverment technology cus was recently recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as a Top Safety Pick. "We were committed from the beginning with the new Focus to design and engineer a vehicle that leads the way both in terms of technology and safety," said Gunnar Herrmann, Global C Car vehicle line director.
To fulfill this commitment, engineers equipped the new Ford Focus with a shell that is made of 55 percent high-strength steels. Of this 55 percent, 31 percent is made of boron steel. This means that 2012 Ford Focus is made of more high-strength steels than any Ford model to date. Additionally, innovative fabrication techniques were used to reduce the vehicle's body weight while providing maximum safety performance.
The 2012 Ford Focus endured more than 12,000 android application real and virtual crash tests to prove the new safety enhancements. This testing resulted in a Ford Focus that features next-generation airbags specifically designed to reduce impact on the driver's chest and ribs during frontal impacts, AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control, the SecuriLock® passive anti-theft system, the SOS Post-Crash Alert System ™, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
