PRLog (Press Release) – Apr 21, 2011 – Diamond Honda of Glendale a leading Los Angeles area Honda dealer is pleased to announce that the all new 2012 Honda Civic is available for sale. We asked sales reps what types of questions they've received so far on the new 2012 Civic and here are the questions along with the answers:
What type of oil does the Civic use? The factory-recommended oil is Genuine Honda 0W-20 non-synthetic
Why isn't the available automatic a 6-speed instead of a 5-speed? Honda engineers were able to achieve competitive performance and fuel economy with going to the expense (and weight) of using a 6-speed transmission.
Is the 1.8-liter engine the same as last years? The engine develops the same horsepower and torque, but there are important changes including numerous friction-reduction and airflow technologies that have been employed to maximize fuel-efficiency. This ultimately results in a 3-mpg increase in fuel economy in both the city and highway for the Civic when equipped with an automatic transmission.
Can you get a manual transmission on the EX and EX-L? A manual transmission isn't available on those model grades of Civic Sedan, and only the EX Coupe is available in a man android application ual. In model grades where both are available the manual transmission version has a lower price.
What doe the ECON button control? All Civic grades (except SI models) have a standard driver-selectable "ECON" driving mode that alters the drive-by-wire response curve. ECON mode also alters shift timing (in an automatic you'll notice it upshift quicker). To further enhance fuel economy, the climate control's upper five fan speeds are lowered incrementally. With these things in mind when using ECON Mode and cruise control at the same time, the cruise control will not maintain speed going uphill or may take longer than expected to return to driver selected speeds.
Why isn't there a plug-in version of the Civic Hybrid A plug-in Civic Hybrid would need to have many times more the battery capacity, which would substantially raise the price of the vehicle. Honda's engineers believe the current state of battery technology and cost, the Civic's Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system offers a better compromise between purchase price and operating cost for most buyers.
How long will the Civic Hybrid's battery last? The battery warranty of the 2012 Civic Hybrid is 15 years, or 150,000 miles (for vehicles with ARB AT PZEV emission certification)
What is the official fuel economy for the 2012 Civic Hybrid? 44 city/44 highway/44 combined 9. In Honda Civics equipped with Honda Satellite Linked Navigation does 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 the FM traffic have a monthly charge? There is no monthly charge. It's free.
What sources does the FM traffic use? Traffic sensors, NAVTEQ sensors, Government sensors, Toll-Tags, Commercial-based Probe Data, and Consumer-based Probe Data
How many voice commands are available on the Civic with Navigation? There 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible are 726 total voice commands.
